FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What should I wear?

Believe it or not it’s one of the most asked questions. You might be wondering if we wear suits, jeans, khakis or capris. The answer is yes. First and foremost, come as you are. Just in case you’re wondering how most people will be dressed, it’s pretty broad. Some will wear khakis and a polo or button up shirt, but others will wear shorts and t-shirts. The same goes for the ladies. . . skirts, pants, dresses, shorts. The most important thing is that we look forward to seeing you, not what you’re wearing.

  • What should I bring?

Pastor Lloyd preaches from the Bible often during his messages, so if you have a Bible, bring it. If you don't have a Bible, or if you forgot to bring yours, no worries! We have plenty of Bibles laying around that are available to use. And if you want, you may even keep a Bible if you don't have one.

  • Is childcare provided?

Yes. Childcare is provided throughout Sunday morning. If your child needs you at some point, we will discretely notify you. Things like diaper changing are usually handled by the Nursery staff, so you can enjoy the service with minimal interruptions.

  • What are the people like?

Paradise Nazarene is diverse. The church resembles, to a great degree the community of which it is a part. There are people from different regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Most of us have mortgages, problems, challenges and all the rest that comes with living. What is significantly different is that the people who make up the church are on a journey toward becoming passionately devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Some are further along in that journey than others, but that should make finding someone you connect with along the path that much easier.

  • What is the worship like?

Our church has a worship style that utilizes both hymns and contemporary praise songs. The focus of our worship is on seeking God's presence through the experience of authentic worship. This means worship for us is not a passive experience performed by the folks up front, but the people's ministry to God.

  • What is the preaching like?

Helpful, without being boring. Pastor Lloyd's Sunday morning teaching is an integration of biblical exposition and application. The ultimate aim of this teaching is to show how God can help in day to day living.
